T'was the Night before the Savior Came..

I am doing this as my sharing time presentation this sunday adn I am going to have some help from ward members acting it out as well. I thought you might all enjoy reading this and maybe do it as a fhe or something.

It 's to the rhyme of twas the night before Christmas...

T'was the night before our Savior came and all through the house, not a person was praying, not one in the house.
Their scripture were lain in the shelf without care, thinking that our Savior would not come there.
The children were dressing to crawl into bed, not once ever kneeling or bowing a head.
And mamma in her rocker with baby on her lap, was watching the Late Show, while I took a nap.
When out of the East there arose such a clatter, I sprang to my feet to see what was the matter.
Away to the windo I flew like a flash, tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear, but an angel; proclaiming that our Savior was here.
With a light like the sun sending forth a bright ray, I knew in a moment, it must be the day.
The light of his face made me cover my head. It was our Savior returning, just like he had said.
And though I possessed wordly wisdom and wealth, I cried when I saw him in spite of myself.
In the Book of Life which he held in his hands, was written the name of every saved man.
he spoke not a word as he searched for my name, then he said, "it;s not here"and my head hung in shame.
The peoples whose na,e had been written with love; he gathered to take them to his Father above.
With those who were ready , he arose without a sound, while all the rest were left standing around.
I fell to my knees but it was too late.I had waited too long and this sealed my fate.
I stood and cried as they rose out of sight, "oh if only I'd been ready when our Savior came tonight."

In the words of this poem the meaning is clear. The coming of our Savior is drawing near. There is only one life and when comes the last call, we will find that the scriptures were true after all.
This months theme is talking about how the prophets of old testified/prophecied about the coming/birth of christ and how he came and how he will come again.
I just thought that this was really neat.

Ohhhh...thank you for this wonderful poem! It is 4:30am and I couldn't sleep because I had my Relief Society lesson on my mind and what I was going to do. I just came down stairs to look up some things and start preparing and saw your poem, it is perfect for my lesson! The lesson is on the second coming:)

I talked to my mom and she mention that she saw you too. She feel for you about the headaches since she suffers with them too. You mentioned that she is so skinny and that probably is because she has been dealing with her high blood pressure. It is hereditary and the on set age in her family is around 50. It has been so bad trying to get her meds ajusted and right. Anyways thanks again for posting that perfect poem for my lesson:)

That is so beautiful. I have just started to get into the Christmas mood. Maybe because of the weather getting colder, but it is fun. You really need to post pictures of Cadie and the new arrival. I am so excited for them!
