That is the question. Ok. So for a long time(5 years) I have been wanting to get new kitchen cabinents, cuz they're ugly. I hate the color. (Actually I like my white ones, just not the honey oak ones. You'll see. And I went and got my hair cut the other day (Bo's cousin Brianna- thanks) and she painted hers black and distressed them and put some awesome hardware on hers and they look FABULOUS!!! I want them sooo bad. So I got to thinking that I should paint MY cabinents black too. We have white appliances and sink and our granite is very neutral that black could work. Here are a few pics of my kitchen now and I want your opinion, should I paint them or should I not. (Since we also may not be in this house for another year) What would you do? I also thought about painting them white to match my food cabinents but then to get black appliances, but that costs too much money and paint is only like $30-40. I think if I had Brianna help me (hehe) they could look awesome and it would make me like my kitchen.
It's VERY tiny.
It's VERY tiny.
what should I do?
This is my kitchen minus the "pantry"- food closet
This is my "panty"- food closet. So I want to paint these and the honey oak ones black and distress them and put some nice brushed nickel hardware on them.
Notice the countertops are neutral enough to have the cabinents painted black?

I personally want a white kitchen (it's probably because everything I have I feel like is black), but I think the black would look fabulous with the red island and your counter-tops. I've done a lot of painting, and black is also a lot easier to hide mistakes in than white. Good luck! Can't wait to see the finished project. :)
If you not going to stay I would leave them alone because everyone's tastes are so different. Especially distressing. I think black distressed would be awesome if you are going to stay.
If you were staying I would say paint them black. They would look awesome black. I love your kitchen by the way, and your cute red island in the center. ADORABLE!!
