So, I got a txt today from my sis-n-law and she told me that she is bored with my blog in the fact that I have not updated for a while. I told her, nothing exciting has happened recently. And she told me to just ramble. So I will. Just for you Mya Jo Brosemann...
We went up to the family cabin last week (day after Thanksgiving) and it was so nice to be able to sleep in and do nothing and eat at Nik-L-Niks (sp?) Man, do they have awesome hamburgers or what?! It even snowed on Sat night. And the boys had so much fun. Not a ton of snow, but more than the last time we were up when it snowed. And then when the sun finally got warm enough the snow melted. But it was fun while it lasted. And boy and I glad that I dont live in a place where it snows a lot. i couldnt fathom bundling up both boys for 15 min each and have them go outside, just to come in a few min later telling me they are too cold or have to go potty or whatnot. That would just drive me crazy.
We had a good Thanksgiving. Ate way to much food. Im getting really amazing at making Cheesecakes. OMG are they delicious or what?
I had recently commented on my neighbors facebook page how I love that their outside Christmas lights are always so perfectly straight. And (jokingly,) commented that her husband should come over and help/show Bo how to do it. She happened to be online at the time and commented back that she just talked to her husband and he would be over the next day to help. The next day came and Bo had a long hard day and they called, but my phone was charging in my room and I didnt hear it. So she calls me the next evening and tells me that her husband is on his way home from work and they will be over as soon as he gets home. Well they came over and he had gotten us these really awesome clips that clip onto the lights and then onto the shingles of the roof. We only had enough strands to do the bottom row. And apparently they dont make the C7 clear lights anymore(not energy efficient) and so we had been having a hard time finding them anywhere. Well here comes Saturday and the boys were watching a movie with neighbor girl and I was back in my bathroom getting ready for the ward party and Coltin comes in my bathroom with a bag in his hand and in the bag was 4 boxes of lights that we needed. Our neighbors had found some at Home Depot and bought them for us. I ran outside as fast as I could to thank them and what not and she was already gone. (by the way, the boys know they are not allowed to open the front door unless a grownup is with them, well the neighbor girl opened the door) anywho, so I called my neighbors and thanked them and asked them how much we owe them for the lights and he said, "nothing" I said, "no, seriously, how much do we owe you?" And he wouldnt let me pay him. So nice. Im very grateful for the wonderful neightbors and their generosity. I made them a plain New York Cheesecake to thank them and I made my family one too. And let me tell you it was oh so very delicious, I gave a piece to another ni=eighbor of mine who I was visiting with last night and she hadno idea that I made it. She said it was so good that it could have been store bought.
Ive got to go pick up Coltin at the bus stop right now. He loves taking the bus home after school. I normally let him walk. It's just down the street, but today it is raining and need to go pick him up. But dont let me forget to tell you about the bus on friday. Be back in a few minutes.
Ok, Im back. Sorry that took so long. :)
Oh yeah, about last friday. So I was on Facebook Friday morning. And I noticed a post from one of my cousins and she said that she was in Phoenix and heading to the Mesa Temple. And I told her that she should stop by and say Hi since Im only a few min away from the Temple. She called me later and came over to my parents house. We got to talking and figured it out, that it has been AT LEAST 15 years since we've last seen eachother. Holy Smokes! How in the world did we let it go so long?Anywho, so I was visiting with her and checked the time and saw that I had to go pick up Coltin at the bus stop ( he asked me to, earlier that morning) So I head on over to the park and wait for the bus. As I was waiting, I decided to call my mom and let her know that my cuz was in town, well when I picked up my phone I saw that I had a new voice mail, so I checked it and it was my next door neighbor saying, that Coltin was all alone sitting on the bench in front of my house, cuz I wasnt home when he got home from school. So she took him in and let him stay at her house. I quickly then REMEMBERED that on Fridays his school lets out 30 min early. And so he got home and I wasnt there and my next door neighbors werent there at the time he got home, so he was just sitting outside all alone, for a few min till they got there. My heart completley SANK and I felt like the worst person/mother in all the world. Seriously, I am so grateful that my neighbors came home when they did and took him in. I cannot even imagine what could have happened? It's all good now. But Im hoping I dont ever forget again.
We got a Christmas Tree on Saturday and decorated it on Sunday. And the boys had such a great time. I put up the extra lights around my house today. Coltin was so surprised when he got home from school.
We are hoping to get pregnant sometime soon. We've been trying consistently for 6 months and it's been 8 months since I had my IUD removed. So, it's definatley been taking a lot longer. I never had any problems before. Coltin it took 2 months and the month I found out I was preggers with Conner was the month that we were going to start trying. Im trying to have faith that it's just not the right time yet. It's hard sometimes, But it will happen when it's supposed to.
I just finished about 8 loads of laundry. It just kept piling up for a week straight. Honestly. My couch in my living room was maxed out with clothes and I had more to wash and dry and knew that if I didnt do it now, it would wait another week. It took me over an hour to fold everything, That is NOT including the socks. I always save the socks for last. And let me tell you, there was one HUGE pile of socks and I still have like 20 that dont have matches. Hmmm. Then I had to put everything away and that took another 30 min. So alltogether it took me just about 2 hours from start to finish to do the stinking laundry. Sheesh. Ive got to try and do 1 load from start to finish at least every day or every other day.
I want a maid and a chef. Actually, I'd rather a Chef than a maid. But both would be ideal.
My baby brother Cory comes home from his mission in Brazil in 8 days. 1 week from toorrow he will be home. Thats sooo crazy. He left the day after Christmas 2 years ago. Conner was barley 1 year old and Coltin was 3 1/2. Coltin knows who he is and remembers him, but Conner not so much. But he is thoroughly excited to have him home. i show him pics and tell him that its Uncle Cory. Im going to be taking Coltin out of school for the day. Man is he excited or what?!
Coltin is doing supurb in school. he is truly AMAZING. he hates to go, but is doing fantastic. He so did not get the "good grades gene" from me. Conner is going to start preschool in january. A few ladies in my ward switch off weeks and take all the 3-4 year olds 2 days a week, 2 hours a day and teach them. So Im excited to not only have the opportunity to teach, but to have Conner out and about and learning and growing. He is getting so big so fast.
Well Mia Jo. Is that enough ramblification for you? I didnt know what else to write about and didnt realize how long this is. So hopefully this will suffice for a while.

girrrl, that was your longest blog yet, I think.
1. It is so nice that someone prompts you to blog...
2. Your neighbors are outlandishly generous and helpful, where do you live, Utopia?
3. Please make Raul and I a cheesecake when we come in April.
That is all...:)
it's me (not Raul)
You are so lucky to have awesome neighbors! That is something that Ive always wanted, and sadly never had. Aslo, please never make me a cheesecake. I will prolly eat the whole thing cuz I know that you are the bomb at baking stuff. Thanks for updating! It was interesting, you need to ramble more!
